Anybody who reads cousin
Tod Goldberg's blog knows how excellent a writer he is (and he'd probably slam me for the construction of that sentence). The LA Times thinks so too. It gave his new short-story collection,
Simplify, a
rave review. I heard the audio version of the eponymous story (read by Andrew McCarthy) while driving down to Orange County, and it caused serious traffic problems. Buy the book.

Hopefully you can make his LA booksigning.
Thanks Danny -- I will say that i was as surprised as anyone to see it. In fact, I didn't see it. I was in Chicago and Lee called me at the break of LA dawn and read it to me while I drove to the airport with my editor, so the synchronicity was quite good. Not as good as the review, but good no less.
I actually didn't see it in the Times; I'm over in Seattle, but I saw the link on Lee's blog. I can't wait to get the book, but I want to get it at the Mystery Bookstore. Since they're big supporters of the Goldberg bros, I want to support them in return.
